TC 3000 series is a versatile thermal conductivity meter. Special sensor design makes it versatile and easy-to-use for liquids, solids, powder, viscous body, paste and etc. For bulk and sheet materials, the sensor can be put between two samples; for powder, gel, pasty, liquids, the sensor could be immersed in the sample container like beaker or the accessory sample container.
Experimental research showed that, TC 3000 series has a much lower flatness requirement for the sample than other methods. Since the hot wire is only 25um, so a line contact of 2cm length is enough once in certain cases there is no guarantee of flatness in the entire sample surface.
An example is shown as follow. An unknown sample with rough surface cannot be measured with the traditional method for the flatness requirement.
In XIATECH test center, the sample was measured directly by TC 3000 without any polishing. Experiment data are listed in table from which it can be seen that the uncertainty is better than the 1%.
