Overview

Capillary viscometry is a classic method for viscosity determination based on the flow characteristics of fluids in slender tubes, widely used in chemical engineering, materials science, food industry, biomedicine, and other fields. With its simple structure, low cost, and easy maintenance, it is suitable for routine quality control and stands as one of the most widely applied and important viscometers today.

XIATECH has developed various types of capillary viscometers, providing comprehensive technical solutions for fluid viscosity measurement. Integrating the latest automated testing technologies, the company continuously expands application scenarios and enhances measurement performance and automation. Its capillary viscometers fall into two categories: one is gravity-type viscometers based on glass capillaries, mainly used for measuring viscosity of non-volatile liquids under atmospheric pressure, featuring automatic liquid injection, automatic cleaning, and sensor-based automatic flow time recognition, compliant with national and international standards. The oher is metal capillary viscometers, a type of pressure-driven capillary viscometers, which determine fluid viscosity by measuring pressure difference across the capillary under stable laminar flow, suitable for kinematic viscosity measurement under high pressure and wide temperature ranges. The temperature range covers room temperature to 700 K (customizable), and the pressure range is 0.1~15 MPa (supporting customization up to 100 MPa or higher). Additionally, an innovative electric control system has been introduced, enabling fully automated viscosity measurement throughout the process from sampling, temperature/pressure control and measurement, to data acquisition, analysis, and result output, greatly reducing manual operation errors and improving efficiency.

XIATECH has established a systematic capillary viscometry measurement system, forming mature product lines covering multiple scenarios to meet fluid viscosity measurement needs across various industries, providing reliable basic experimental data for fluid engineering applications. It also offers the following customized solutions to effectively address technical bottlenecks in viscosity measurement under complex conditions:

1)Viscosity measurement of petrochemical products: temperature extendable up to 700 K, customizable.

2)Viscosity measurement of high-viscosity fluids such as lubricating oils and coolants: covering wide temperature and viscosity ranges, customizable.
